The 16th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be held in a virtual format in view of the covid-19 pandemic on January 9 next year, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the conference. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas belongs to the Government of India and provides an important platform to connect and engage with foreign expatriates. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2019 Many people who leave their country and live in other countries of the world for other reasons are called ‘Pravasi Bharatiya’ (Indian Pravasi Diwas). According to the data, around 25 million expatriate Indians are living in 110 other countries. And, in 11 countries, more than 5 lakh overseas Indians represent the average population there and play an important role in deciding the economic and political situation and direction of the place. Since the economic, educational, and vocational skills of these overseas Indians are very powerful, they have special significance for India’s economic background, they have to bear both responsibilities. Overseas Indians have acquired a common identity only because of their cultural and linguistic heritage. This is what always keeps them connected to their country. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on 09 January every year by the Government of India to keep this relationship strong.

The Government of India’s flagship event Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention provides an essential platform to connect with the overseas people. This year (2021) theme for PBD is “Contributing to Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
The main objective of this day special is to recognize the contribution of overseas Indians in the development of India and to provide several platforms for positive interaction with the many people expression of their thoughts and feelings towards for country. Many people of India will have to explain in detail the achievements of the immigrant brothers and the hopes of the countrymen. There is also a special purpose of connecting the network of NRIs in about 110 countries. Apart from this, you will also need to make local Indians good relations with other countries and tell them about the role of immigrants and to connect the younger generation of Indians to non-resident brothers.

The 16th PBD Convention 2021 will be inaugurated by Modi. During the event, two special plenary sessions will be held – ‘Role of Migrants in Self-reliant India’ and ‘Facing Post Covid Challenges – Scenario in Health, Economy, Social and International Relations’, during which experts from India and all. The minister said that the world will give brainstorming and give suggestions to provide solutions to the most challenging issues facing the country.
He says that the Indian diaspora is known for his talent, exemplary discipline, and hard work and has made significant contributions in, music, technology, business, science, literature, and politics. There are around 31 million overseas Indians worldwide, of which around 13 million are PIOs and 17 million are NRIs. the Muralitharan said that “We warmly invite them to be a part of India’s dynamic and equitable development, connect with them meaningfully and chart India’s success through the PBD Convention 2021.
